Polizei-Battalion 111 (Reserve)
Interesting in that I have:
October 29, to November 18, 1944: The regiment is north of Paks on the Danube helping defend Budapest from the approaching Soviet army. The regiment may have been rebuilt using Hungarians auxiliaries. They were assisting in the defense of the Solt bridgehead where the regiment along with other units with a large percentage ofHungarian auxiliaries were deemed so unreliable that machine guns were setup to the rear of them to discourage movement to the rear. 4
June 1944: The regiment is disbanded in Koblenz, Germany. Remnants may have gone to SS Police Regiment 50 which was destroyed in 1945 defending the approaches to Berlin.
Yet the card has them by Danzig?
