X. Zwerger, Wachtmeister der Gendarmerie der Reserve - II.Polizei- Regt.,8. Komp. 15. März 1945 bei Danzig Polizei-Battalion 111 (Reserve) Interesting in that I have: October 29, to November 18, 1944: The regiment is north of Paks on the Danube helping defend Budapest from the approaching Soviet army. The regiment may have been rebuilt using Hungarians auxiliaries. They were assisting in the defense of the Solt bridgehead where the regiment along with other units with a large percentage ofHungarian auxiliaries were deemed so unreliable that machine guns were setup to the rear of them to discourage movement to the rear. 4 Yet the card has them by Danzig? PB 82 – fm May 1941 to late June 1941) - From Summer 1941 on: not precise details available. In Krakau District two kompanien of PB 74 (Krakau-Stadt), PB 111 (in the middle kreisen of district ???) and Polizei-Schutzen-Kp “Frankfurt/O” (in the eastern kreisen [Sanok, Przemysl, Jaroslv] ???). |
