Police Battalions - Research

Below you will find research I have done from various archives. The files are in PDF format unless otherwise noted. There are pages missing and the order may be a bit jumbled. Pages missing is due to my searching for Police Battalion locations and dates only. If you have any documents you wish to add please let me know. If you have found this useful and would like to contribute see below. Also included is information gleaned from other sources.

If your an author and you use this for a paper or book then think about sending me a copy.

PDF's have been OCR'd using German as the language (most of them).

If you have more questions I suggest the Axis History Forum and their SS/Polizei section. I have also found the Wehrmacht Awards Forum very helpful.

Report of the Estonian Government Commision on the German Occupation 1941 to 1944Interesting for the info on the "Forest Brothers", and the Omakaitise. Vaivara, Tartu, Jagala, Tallinin camp complexes. Providing of auxillaries for ghetto roundups in Poland. Assisting in the mass shooting of Jews in Nowogrodek on August 7, 1942. See flight log as General xxxxxx was flown in on same day. Report says it was 36th PB but not a German PB - Aux? Also mentions PB's 286, 287, 288, as PB's - probably Estonian Schuma??? Too early?

Reports from Polizei-Regiment-Mitte. Primarily on the regiment but each battalion was busy in different areas. Contains info about the following battalions: 307, 322, 321, 316, 307. Also mentions Security Divisions and Landesshutz Rgt. 45 which was in Bialystok for those massacares. Source: ReMilitary History Records, Prague, Reel 9. USHMM
