| On Swamp warfare - how the swamp was a partisans friend - the ability to tell/read the colors of the water - black or green was important | On Operation "Kormoran" pg 420 from in den waldern belorusslands 1 partisan group under Major Kasanzew operating in the swamps and woods of the area. (Beresina) 40 battalions of German troops under v. Gottberg. In Logoisk to Pleschtschenizy Road area cleansing. June 2, 1943 Partisan were operating from Chatyn area. this group had radio comm. On June 3, 1943 took 2 wounded with minor wounds from splinters caused by a grenade. Other Soviet partisan unit was the Brigade lead by Wassili Woronjanski (Uncle Wasja) The partisan group "Kasanzew" hooked up with Wasja and moved to the Logoisk area. Another partisan group operating in this area during this operation was the Brigade "Bolschwik." pg 428 |
